Considering a club change? Questions to ask yourself when exploring a Club:

  • Club CultureIs the club family-oriented or focused only on soccer and success? What does success look like to them?
  • Club PhilosophyWhat do they stand for and does it align with what you're looking for. More importantly, do you see that put into action?
  • CoachesHow much Coaching experience does the coaching staff have? From where?
  • Coach / Player Relationship - How interested is the Coach in your player? What's their relationship with other players? Does the Coach know more about the player off the field vs on the field?
  • CommunicationIn speaking with current club members, what is the level of communication between the Club and parents and how important is that to you?
  • LocationAre practices within a reasonable travel distance? Decide how long you are willing to travel on a weekly basis for practice?
  • Player Commitment / Travel ExpectationsMost clubs practice 2-3 days per week with a game on weekend. Depending on the League, some games can be out of state.
  • Player GoalsWhat are you and your player looking for in a club? Individual player development? Winning at all costs?
  • Player ResourcesDoes the club offer other resources or opportunities for your player to help development them?
  • ReputationHow do players and coaches conduct themselves during games? This behavior is a reflection of the club and how they handle themselves.
