Experience

Started coaching in 2009 for Soccer Club Of Ridgefield, mentored by CT Hall of Fame coach Phil Bergen for 4 years. I then coached for Danbury Youth Soccer & Premier teams before transitioning as one of the first group of coaches that started with newly founded AC Connecticut.  With ACC I coached ages u12-u17 from 2013 to 2020 where I also had the privilege of learning from another CT Hall of Fame coach Shawn Bailey.  In 2013 I also joined current Revolution Coach ,Joe D’Auria, as a Varsity assistant at Shelton High School until 2016.  In 2017 I then became an assistant coach for yet another CT Hall Of Fame coach, Joe Mingachos, at Western Connecticut State University Men’s Soccer team.  I currently still serve as an Assistant coach for the program.  I started playing soccer for Shelton High School 2001-2003. 3 year Varsity starter and senior Captain.  2nd lead goal scorer in all of CT High School Soccer in 2003.  WestConn Men’s Soccer 2004-2007.  LEC Championship in 2005.

Why I Like To Coach

My approach to coaching has always been “to be the coach I always wished I had.” So I try to be the best version of all the coaches I’ve had the privilege of playing for and coaching with.  Soccer should always be fun and I want my passion for the game to be infectious on the field.  I truly enjoy being a part of the technical development of young players.  But most importantly being motivational and instilling confidence in every player I coach.

How Long I have Been Part of Revolution

In my opinion Revolution does an excellent job at staying true to the development of their players.  I’ve coached against many different clubs where you can clearly see that is not their main focus.  I have always been a firm believer that a technically sound player can adapt to any tactical coaching style as they get older.  Seeing the Revolution players that came into Westconn Soccer Program over the last 7 years, you could see the difference in technical ability and attitude.  And I think that’s a huge testament to this club’s philosophy! I am excited to be a part of this great coaching staff.
